The drawing closely resembles the group of the Virgin and Child in Raphael's so-called ‘Canigiani Holy Family’ (c.1506-07; see RCIN 850756 for a photograph of it), a painting now in the Alte Pinakothek, Munich (inv. no.WA 476).
