The painting is set in a frame decorated with two angels holding a scroll inscribed with the letters: 'RAPH: SANZIO D'VRBINO'. Showing the three-quarter length Virgin, seated, supporting the naked Christ Child in her lap on a cushion, with St Joseph at left.
