This engraving is a reversed copy after the so-called 'Morbetto', a print by Marcantonio Raimondi after Raphael's invention. Second state, lacking Latin inscription (at upper right), and engraver's monogram and designer's name (at lower left). Not described in Bartsch.
Catalogued by Passavant (1860) and Ruland (1876) as by an anonymous engraver, it has been tentatively ascribed to Giovanni Antonio da Brescia by Stefania Massari (in Raphael Invenit 1985). A second state impression of Marcantonio's engraving can be found at RCIN 852188.
