A photograph of a painting formerly attributed to Raphael, as lettered on the sheet. According to Ruland (1876), the photographed work is by Marco Palmezzano and then housed in the collection of the late Mr J. W. Brett, Esq.; exhibited at the 1857 Manchester Art Treasures exhibition as Raphael (p.21, cat. no.121).
Acquired for the Prince Consort's Raphael Collection (c.1853-76)
