Photograph of the road to Balaklava, running past Kadikoi. The road curves round to the left of the valley, with a steep hill beside it to the left. A group of soldiers stand in the foreground and there are a number of tents in the valley behind them. The village of Kadikoi can be seen in the middle distance, with large hills behind. The Battle of Balaklava was fought in the countryside around the small village of Kadikoi, just north of Balaklava.
