Photograph of memorials to the 97th Regiment in a British cemetery near Sevastopol. The gravestones are arranged in a group, most with their inscriptions clearly visible. One is surrounded by a metal fence. There is an obelisk behind the graves to the right and hills can be seen in the distance.
Before they left the Crimea in 1856 the British created a number of cemeteries on the sites where regiments had camped during the Siege of Sevastopol.
