Photograph of memorials, mostly to officers of the Royal Engineers, in a British cemetery near Sevastopol. The graves are arranged in a row in front of a wall, their inscriptions clearly visible.
Before they left the Crimea in 1856 the British created a number of cemeteries on the sites where regiments had camped during the Siege of Sevastopol.
