Photograph of a memorial to several officers of the 90th Light Infantry who died during the attack on the Redan, 8th September 1855. The memorial is a large gravestone, the inscription clearly visible. There are graves to either side marked with smaller gravestones and cannonballs. There are plants around the graves and open land behind.
Before they left the Crimea in 1856 the British created a number of cemeteries on the sites where regiments had camped during the Siege of Sevastopol.
