Photograph of Maréchal Pélissier seated with his right arm hooked over the back of the chair. He is wearing military uniform with a sash and insignia and holds a feathered hat in his left hand. There is a building behind him.

Maréchal Pélissier commanded the French troops during the Siege of Sevastopol and was made Marshal of France shortly after. He later became the Governor General of Algeria.
