Photograph of Major Brandling's wooden hut with a group of soldiers gathered outside. Soldiers stand to either side of the hut with one soldier sitting on a chair to the right of the doorway with his arm around a dog. They are wearing a mixture of military uniform and winter coats. A dog lies on the ground in front of them. Major Brandling served with the Royal Artillery during the Crimean War.
