Photograph of Lieutenant Godman of the 5th Dragoons standing in front of his horse, facing left but with his body turned towards the camera. He is wearing military uniform and a helmet and has a sword by his side. The horse is laden with supplies and a servant stands to the left by its head. There is open land and a hillside behind. The 5th Dragoon Guards served during the Crimean War and fought in the Battle of Balaklava.
