Photograph of Kamiesh. Horses are grazing in the field in the foreground, and there are a number of wooden huts and tents. Behind is the harbour, filled with ships.
The port of Kamiesh was used as a base by the French during the Crimean War. Supplies arrived by ship into the small harbour and were transported to troops engaged in the Siege of Sevastopol.
