Photograph of General Pennefather (1800-1872) and an orderly mounted on horses in an open space. General Pennefather is mounted to the left, facing the camera with his arms crossed. Beside him to the left the corner of a tent can be seen.
During the Crimean War General Pennefather was responsible for the dramatic allied victory at the Battle of Inkerman.
