Photograph of General Yea and Lieutenant Hobson standing beside a horse. General Yea stands to the left by the horse's head, turning to the right with his left hand resting on the saddle. Lieutenant Hobson, standing to the right, holds out a letter to him with his right hand and holds a sword in his left. Both are wearing military uniform and there is a wooden hut behind them.
General Yea commanded the Royal Fusiliers during the Crimean War. Both men died during the attack on the Redan, 18 June 1855.
