Photograph of General Bosquet (1810-1861) giving orders to his staff. He stands at the centre of the group pointing forwards with his left hand. One soldier stands to the left and two to the right. All are wearing military uniform and carry swords. A cloth wall and a pole can be seen behind. General Bosquet was a senior French military figure during the Crimean War and was involved in the Siege of Sevastopol and the Battle of Inkerman.
