Photograph of the Council of War held at Lord Raglan's Headquarters on the morning of the successful attack on the Mamelon. Lord Raglan (1788-1855), Maréchal Pélissier (1794-1864) and Omar Pacha (1806-1871) are seated around a small round table covered with a cloth. Lord Raglan sits to the left, his left arm resting on the table. Maréchal Pélissier sits to the right looking down at the table, wearing full military uniform. Omar Pacha sits between them looking at Maréchal Pélissier. There is a doorway behind. This photograph, printed by Jabez Hughes in 1883, is a carbon print pasted over the original photograph.

Lord Raglan commanded the British forces during the Crimean War, Maréchal Pélissier the French and Omar Pacha the Turkish.
