Photograph of Captain Walker (1827-1902) sitting on a pile of straw facing left reading the General Orders he holds in his hands. One soldier stands to the right and two to the left. All are wearing military uniform. There is a tent behind them and a saddle on the ground to the left.
Captain Walker served with the 30th Regiment of Foot during the Crimean War and was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions at the Battle of Inkerman.
