Photograph of the camp of the 97th Regiment. Soldiers are gathered in the foreground; three lying on the ground, two mounted on horses and the rest standing. All are wearing military uniform. Directly behind them there is a group of tents and wooden huts. There is a large number of tents on the open land behind them and hills can be seen in the distance. The 97th Regiment served in the Crimean War, suffering heavy casualties during the attack on the Redan.
