Photograph of a painting depicting the confirmation of Victoria, the Princess Royal at the private chapel, Windsor Castle. The princess is shown at the centre of the composition, kneeling, her back facing the viewer, as she receives blessings from the priest. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert stand beside her.  The confirmation took place on 20 March 1856.
