Photograph of a full length portrait of Sir John Lawrence, Baronet, G.C.B., standing, facing halfway to the left. He turns his head and looks towards the camera. He rests his right hand on the back of a chair and places his left hand in his coat pocket. 

Lawrence served as Viceroy of India from 1864 to 1869.
