c.1858 after an original of 25 January 1858Albumen print | 12.7 x 11.4 cm (whole object) | RCIN 2905593
Photograph of a three-quarter length portrait of Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and Victoria, the Princess Royal in the costumes they wore at the marriage of the Princess Royal.
The photograph is after a daguerreotype taken just before the marriage. The figure of Queen Victoria is blurred due to movement. Of the event, Queen Victoria wrote in her journal 'Vicky was daguerreotyped in my room, & she & her dear father & I, together, but I trembled so that it has come out indistinct. Then, it was time to go. '
