Photograph of a full length portrait of Prince Maurice of Saxe-Altenburg (1829-1907) standing beside a chair, facing the viewer and wearing the uniform of General of Cavalry in the Prussian Army. He holds a cap in his right hand and his sword in his left.

In 1862 Prince Moritz married Princess Augusta of Saxe-Meiningen, daughter of Bernhard II, Duke of Saxe-Meiningen. They had five children.
