Photograph of a full length double portrait of Prince Leopold, later Duke of Albany (1853-84), and Prince Arthur, later Duke of Connaught (1850-1942). Prince Leopold stands next to Prince Arthur who is seated on a chair. They look at one another and Prince Arthur places his right hand on Prince Leopold's shoulder. They are dressed in the costumes of sons of King Henry IV, including a tunic with pointed collar and tights.
They are dressed for the Bal Costumé at Buckingham Palace, an event to celebrate Prince Leopold's 6th birthday.
