Photograph of a full length portrait of Ludwig Gruner seated, facing three-quarters to the right. He poses with his legs crossed. A hat is located on the floor to his right. 

Gruner was Keeper of the Royal Print Room at Dresden, an engraver and art publisher who directed the production of chromolithography by the Berlin firm of Storch & Kramer. He also acted as adviser to Prince Albert on matter relating to art, particularly the Raphael Collection.
