Photograph of a full length portrait of Lady Harriet Hamilton (1834-1913), dressed as Mary, Queen of Scots. Lady Hamilton is seated, facing three-quarters to the right. She turns her head towards the camera and gazes to the left. She holds a book open in her lap with her right hand. Her left elbow is positioned on a desk, and she rests her left cheek on her left hand. Lady Hamilton wore the costume to Countess Walewska's Ball.
