Photograph of a full length portrait of a male group, posed within a studio setting. The portrait comprises of, from left to right, Reverend Charles Tarver, Honourable George Cadogan (seated), William Gladstone, Colonel Henry Ponsonby, General Charles Grey (seated), the Honourable T. Stanley, Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, Charles Wood, 2nd Viscount of Halifax, Dr Alexander Armstrong (seated) and Mr Frederick W. Gibbs.

The photograph has been over painted to give the illusion the sitters are posed in a clearing in a natural rocky landscape in Königswinter. A lake has been painted into the background.
