Photograph of Friedrich Wilhelm, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, seated with his legs crossed, his hands on his lap. He holds a cane. The Grand Duke was married in June 1843 at Buckingham Palace to his first cousin, Princess Augusta of Cambridge, a member of the British Royal Family and a granddaughter of King George III. He lost his sight in middle age.
