Photograph of a full length portrait of Colonel Robert Nigel Fitzhardinge Kingscote (1830-1908) seated at a table cross-legged, facing halfway to the left. He turns his head and looks towards the camera. He leans his right arm on the table and places his right hand to his cheek. He holds some paperwork in his lap with his left hand.
Kingscote was Parliamentary Groom-in-Waiting from 1859 to 1866, Equerry to the Prince of Wales from 1862 to 1885, thereafter Extra Equerry, and Receiver General to the Duchy of Cornwall from 1888.
Another possibility could be that actually this is his father, Thomas Henry Kingscote (1799-1861).
