Photograph of a full-length portrait of Carl Haag standing, facing towards the camera. He leans on a prop tree. He holds a gun with bayonet in his right hand and wears a military uniform. He poses against a painted background.

Haag was a Bavarian-born painter who became a naturalized British subject and was court painter to the Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. There are many paintings and watercolours (see RCIN 450857) in the Royal Collection by him. He also hand-coloured a number of photographs.
