Photograph of a full length portrait of Carl Haag standing, facing three-quarters to the left. He gazes ahead, away from the camera. Haag holds the back of a chair with his right hand and holds a cane in his left hand.

Haag was a Bavarian-born painter who became a naturalized British subject and was court painter to the Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. There are many paintings and watercolours (see RCIN 450857) in the Royal Collection by him. He also hand-coloured a number of photographs.
