Photograph of a full length portrait of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII (1841-1910) seated, facing a quarter to the left. He looks towards the right. He holds an axe in his right hand and a pair of skates in his left hand. He wears a long white beard and hair, a cape and hat. Fake snow has been applied to his hat and cape. The Prince is dressed as the embodiment of Winter for the Tableaux of the Seasons, performed at Windsor Castle.
