Queen Victoria is seated at the centre of the family, looking down at a picture of Prince Albert which she holds on her lap. Princess Alice kneels by her side. Princess Victoria, Crown Princess of Prussia and Prince Alfred stand behind their mother. Beside the group, on the right, is a bust of Prince Albert adorned with flowers and on a pedestal.
