Albumen print | 14.0 x 9.53 cm (image) | RCIN 2800162

Photograph of a rosewater sprinkler. The sprinkler is cast in several sections: body, neck and the rose at the top. The sprinkler is enamelled with a design of birds and flowers. The style is typical of enamellers working in Lucknow, India in the 19th century.

The sprinkler  depicted in the photograph is thought to be among a selection of Lucknow enamel works sent to the 1851 Great Exhibition.
