Photograph of a jewelled cross made from three circular elements and a pear-shaped one. Inside the cross is a smaller cross formed by six circular stones. The cross hangs from a circular-shaped element. The object is decorated with jewels on the body, and filigree (ornamental wirework) around its perimeter. Three single stones hang from the arms and the lower element of the cross.
The cross once belonged to Mary, Queen of Scots (1542-87).
