Photograph of the painting 'The Blue Boy' by Thomas Gainsborough (1727-88). The painting is of a full length portrait of a boy, standing, facing towards the viewer. He wears historical dress and holds a hat in his right hand. He places his left hand on his hip.
At the time of the photograph the painting was in the collection of Hugh Lupus Grosvenor, Duke of Westminster (1825-99). The painting is now held by the Henry E. Huntington Art Gallery, California.
