Photograph of a painting of a head and shoulder length portrait of George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham (1592-1628), facing a quarter to the right. The painting is photographed in its frame. The painting is photographed with a dagger, shown in the lower right corner, that was believed to have killed the Duke.
The painting is attributed to Cornelius Jansen (1585-1638) and is currently in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
