Photograph of a painting of, or after, 'Benvenuto Cellini, Giving Instructions to His Assistant, Bernardino Manellini' by Solomon Alexander Hart (1806-81). The painting depicts Benvenuto Cellini (1500-71) showing an assistant a small sculpture. Cellini holds the sculpture in his right hand and holds a carving tool in his left. His assistant stands behind him, on the left, and peers over his shoulder at the sculpture.
