Gold pendant with portraits of Prince Albert and Queen Victoria

c. 1860

Gold pendant with pearls, containing two hand coloured photographs | 4.9 x 3.8 cm (whole object) | RCIN 14913

A gold oval pendant with pearl set edges containing, on either side, photographic portraits of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The photographs have been hand coloured. The pearl on the lower, bottom edge is attached with a loop, allowing it to move freely. The construction of the pendant allows for the pendant to swivel so both sides can be revealed.
