Gilt metal pin with photograph | 2.8 x 3.0 x 0.7 cm (whole object) | RCIN 53596

A circular gilt metal brooch containing a photograph of a head and shoulder length portrait of a young Prince Leopold. The brooch is decorated with a twisted, rope design on the outer rim and a inner border of gilt metal balls.  

The brooch is inscribed on the back: 'Leopold/ Xmas 1857'. The photograph dates from August 1857 (RCIN 2900110).
