Photograph from an album taken outside Balmoral Castle. Queen Victoria (1819-1901) is seated with her daughters in the back of a 'sociable' or carriage. Alongside the queen is seated Princess Louise (1848-1939), later Duchess of Argyll and Princess Beatrice (1857-1944), later Princess Henry of Battenberg is seated opposite the Queen. At the front of the carriage is John Brown (nearest to the viewer) and Mr Bowner who wears a top hat and holds a riding crop.
