Photograph of a three-quarter length portrait of Prince Albert (1819-61) seated. He is captured in profile, facing left. His right leg is crossed over his left leg. He holds a pair of gloves in his left hand, placed in his lap. His right hand is placed on his right thigh.

This portrait of Prince Albert was taken in May 1854 by Duppa. In July of the same year, Queen Victoria commissioned him to take a photograph of her, as a surprise for her husband. In her portrait (RCIN 2906533), the Queen is seen holding a framed copy of this photograph.
