This cannon appears to be The Great Turkish Bombard, a cannon cast for the siege train of Sultan Mahomet II of Turkey between 1431 and 1481 and which, at the time this photograph was taken, was sited at Chanak fort on the waterway known as the Dardanelles in Turkey. The cannon was acquired by the British from the Turkish Government in 1868.
