Photograph from an album of a full length portrait of ?Mrs Symon dressed in long gown with embroidered cuffs, sleeves and bodice. She wears a black bonnet with lace side frills and is seated next to a table on which she leans her right arm. She holds a closed book in her left hand.

The Symon family were connected to Queen Victoria's personal servant, John Brown's family. Mrs Symon was probably a member of staff at Balmoral Castle.
