Photograph from an album of Mr John Brown (Bush) (1827-83), standing in right side profile alongside a wall with his right hand in his pocket. He looks down at his wife Margaret Brown (1799-1876), who is seated on the right and wearing a white bonnet. In the centre stands their daughter, Anne Brown, who looks down at her mother with her hand on the back of a chair. 

John and Margaret Brown were the parents of John Brown (1827-83), Queen Victoria's personal servant who was born in Aberdeenshire and died at Windsor Castle on the 27th March 1883. He is buried in Crathie, Aberdeenshire.
