AFTER ANTOINE FRANÇOIS JEAN CLAUDET (1797-1867)

Marie Walburg, Baroness Speth

c. 1860

Albumen print | 10.5 x 7.0 cm (image) | RCIN 2915719

Photograph of a three-quarter length portrait of a woman; she is seated and holds a book on her lap. An old label below the print identified the woman as Mrs Lillie, a nurse of Queen Victoria; however a second note below identifies her as Marie Walburg, Baroness de Speth, possibly a Lady in Waiting to the Duchess of Kent. Another copy of this is RCIN 2906677.
