Photograph showing King Leopold I of the Belgians, seated by a table with a carved pediment and legs designed in the shape of a cherub. A bookcase is behind the King to his left. A long-haired dog sits under the table, resting his head on the table stretcher. King Leopold was Queen Victoria's uncle, he was married to Princess Charlotte of Wales, daughter of King George IV, who died in childbirth.
