An etching by Carlo Pontani depicting architectonical details of Palazzo Jacopo da Brescia, a Renaissance building erected to Raphael's design between c. 1515 and 1519. This print was published by Pontani in "Opere architettoniche di Raffaello Sanzio, incise e dichiarate dall'Architetto Carlo Pontani", published in two volumes in 1841 and 1845. The print is lettered with the title in Italian and a scale. Signed by the printmaker. Annotated on the verso.
The palace – built for Jacopo da Brescia, Leo X's personal physician – stood at the confluence of Borgo Nuovo and Borgo S.Angelo, in the Borgo rione (district), Rome. In 1937 it was demolished when Via della Conciliazione was opened, and rebuilt with a different footprint not far from its original location.
